If you've been on the lookout for your next favourite artist, Spencer Sutherland should without a doubt be on your radar. An upcoming artist who has already established a massive amount of fanbase through his impeccable artistic abilities, Sutherland is back with his latest offering.

The project that comprises of three acts; each of them showcasing a distinct yet unique narrative, Sutherland’s latest album "The Drama" delves into an extravagant yet nostalgic theme in hopes of reviving and elevating the significance of glam within the current pop landscape.

'The Drama' perfectly amalgamates the nostalgic rock-rhythm the old souls have been immensely eager to witness within modern tracks alongside a sheer novel element incorporated that might intrigue the younger audience as they get introduced to the fascinating genre of "Glam Rock".

We talk to Sutherland about the creative process behind this phenomenal new project, any challenges he faced during the production stage of the offering, what fans can expect from his highly-anticipated forthcoming World Tour, and all things "The Drama".

Hi there Spencer. Thank you for joining us on ReVamp! How are you doing and how has 2024 been like for you so far?

Thanks for having me! 2024 has already been a trip! It’s amazing to see how much people have been liking and resonating with my singles. And now it’s time for my album! Also I got to tour Europe!

Delving into your phenomenal professional journey, you recently released your brand new track “Modern Heartbreak". Do you remember how the initial inspiration behind the song struck you for the first time?

The song sounds like it’s about a romantic relationship, but it’s actually about the music industry. It’s about having a dream and a purpose and having your heart broken at every turn. It sure makes the success sweet though, I’ll give it that.

Kindly walk me through the overall creative process for the track. Did you face any sort of challenges during the production stage of this song?

It actually came together crazy quick. The words fell out of my brain so fast, I think because it was painfully real and true.

This track is a bit distinct from your previous offering; giving us a little glimpse into those vulnerable and intimate sides of you as an artist.

It’s important to have those songs. As much as I try to have fun at all costs at all times, everyone has these dark days. I even tried to make it like a cheers to heartbreak song.

As a creative with such an established fanbase, does it ever get pressurizing or challenging for you to put those intimate and raw emotions into your songs knowing there's such a massive amount of people out there extremely eager to listen to your musical offerings?

I think it’s exciting! It makes me want to open up more. Especially because my fans are so supportive, understanding and sweet. They feel what I feel and vice versa.

You also stunned your fanbase by announcing your sophomore album "The Drama" which will be coming out very soon! Huge congratulations on that! What can you tell us about this specific project? And how is this anticipation period currently going for you?

THANKS! I’m so so so proud of it. This album came together much quicker than my first, as it’s a themed rock opera. Anticipation has been great because people online are making all the teasers go viral!!!!

Any memorable track from this album that stands out for you? Perhaps a song that you're really looking forward to receiving everyone's reactions on?

I think all of them. But if I had to choose, either “A Tragedy” or “Put Your Money On Me.”

The title in itself reveals an extravagant theme and as mentioned the LP significantly revolves around and amalgamates the elements of vintage, glam, and much more within this album.

But I'm very curious to know how would you personally describe the theme of "The Drama"?

I think you just did an INCREDIBLE job of it. It’s a glam rock pop modern rock opera. It’s reminiscent of that big 70s/80s rock, but still has a shinier feel to it that today’s audience will like.

You are also all set to embark on your North American Headlining Tour in 2025. Way to go!

What can the fans expect from your performances pertaining to this exciting new endeavour and do you already have a setlist planned and confirmed for this tour?

Thank you! Also going to Europe and the UK which is pretty mind blowing! This show is going to be more theatrical and bigger than ever! The setlist is being worked on lol.

Where do you garner your music inspiration from? Also, is there any particular artist on your radar that you absolutely would love to work and collaborate with in the future?

It’s all from artists of the past. Elvis, Prince, Bowie, Queen, Elton. I want to work with Bruno Mars so bad. He’s the pinnacle for me. A vintage soul and a voice that transcends time!

What's next for you, Spencer?Besides the upcoming album as well as your highly-anticipated forthcoming tour, is there anything else in the pipeline you're currently working on that you would like to tell us about?

More new music, more touring, and acting as well! I am always looking to do more entertaining. It’s what I feel like my calling on earth is for. Gonna run this album into the ground first though lol.

Ending Note:- (Thank you for taking out your time for this interview, Spencer! Wishing you lots of luck on your upcoming projects and tour!)

Lastly, I would love to know if there's any message that you wish to convey to your fans and supporters currently reading this interview?

THANK YOU FOR HAVING ME! I just want my fans to know how much I love and appreciate them. It is insane I’m able to do this in life and I will NEVER forget that. I love you!
