Interview: Charlotte Harney
Noel Jewellery, founded by luxury men’s jewellery designer Noel Samra has launched it’s debut collection. Inspired by travel, the arts and spirituality, this collection is an elevation for men’s jewellery, showcasing bold shapes, delicate details and unwavering style.
Hero pieces are found within the Revolution bracelet which is handcrafted in 18K White Gold, Blue Enamel with White Round Cut Diamonds, signifying a wonderfully subversive nature as well as the Cosmos Necklace, handcrafted in 18K Rose Gold with a grounding Black Onyx Stone. We caught up with Noel to discuss where men’s jewellery sits within the luxury accessories world, his family heritage in jewellery design and the design process required to make a successful brand.
Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background?
I’ve always been drawn to the bold and unconventional—a mix of rebellion and refinement. My journey into jewellery started as a personal exploration of creativity, driven by the desire to create pieces that challenge norms. Noel Jewellery reflects my vision: jewellery for men that embraces both luxury and freedom without compromise.
Did you always want to launch your own jewellery brand?
Not always. The idea came organically, through the frustration of not finding pieces that resonated with my style—something luxurious but rebellious, with a sense of freedom. I realized there was a gap in the market for high-end men’s jewellery that goes beyond the ordinary, and that’s when Noel Jewellery was born.
How do you feel the jewellery industry differs between jewellery for men and for women?
The industry has traditionally focused heavily on women’s jewellery, with men’s pieces often being limited in creativity. Women’s collections embrace variety and detail, while men’s jewellery has been more conservative. At Noel Jewellery, I wanted to break that mold and create pieces that express individuality, rebellion, and confidence—while still maintaining a sense of luxury.
Have you found there is a different approach to the design process, marketing, branding development, etc.?
Absolutely. Men’s jewellery demands a balance between statement and subtlety. The design process is about finding that sweet spot—bold without being loud, luxurious without being excessive. From branding to marketing, we focus on storytelling that resonates with a lifestyle of freedom and individuality, appealing to men who want to express themselves unapologetically.
What was the inspiration behind your debut collection?
The debut collection is inspired by the interplay of rebellion, freedom, and luxury. It reflects the idea that jewellery isn’t just an accessory—it’s a statement of identity. The pieces draw on architectural forms and modern art, with a rebellious spirit running through every design.
Do you have a favourite piece from your collection?
It’s hard to choose, but if I had to, I’d say the Revolution Bangle. It perfectly embodies the ethos of Noel Jewellery—luxurious, daring, and timeless. It’s a piece I find myself wearing constantly because it feels like an extension of who I am.
What advice would you give others trying to break into the fine jewellery industry or looking to launch their own brand or business?
Stay true to your vision. The jewellery industry can be tough, and it’s easy to feel the pressure to conform. But the key is to find your niche and own it. Know your story, know your audience, and never compromise on quality or creativity. Persistence and authenticity are everything.
Do you have a plan or any thoughts on what’s next for you?
I’m always thinking ahead. Noel Jewellery will continue to push boundaries, with new collections exploring different facets of freedom and expression. I also want to expand globally, reaching men who resonate with the brand’s ethos. There are exciting collaborations in the works, too—but I’ll keep that a secret for now.
If you could have anyone wear your jewellery, who would it be?
It would have to be someone who embodies freedom and individuality—like Lenny Kravitz or Timothée Chalamet. Both of them have a unique way of blending elegance with edge, which is exactly what Noel Jewellery is about. Seeing someone like that wearing one of my pieces would be the ultimate validation.
