Widely known for being a singer, songwriter, actor and an extremely prominent social media star, UK-born Mackenzie Sol is more than a triple threat. As a music artist, he first captured the attention of Simon Cowell and the hearts of thousands on X-Factor UK at just 4 years old. Mackenzie went on to write his own music and has written and released music with some of the world's best songwriters including Diane Warren.

Also getting the privilege of opening for Josh Groben, Jennifer Hudson, and Babyface, Mackenzie very recently collaborated with the phenomenal Steve Aoki, artist Aviella and the DJ Slushii on his new single “H8 December”. Mackenzie is also known for his acting skills and stars as the lead voice of P.U.P in the Airbud Pup Star series on Netflix.

We recently had a chat with the talented creative about his successful journey.

Hi there Mackenzie. So wonderful to have you over at ReVamp! How are you doing?

I’m good thank you. Hope you’re doing well yourself!

How has your been for you so far? Since its almost the end of the year, what has been your favorite memory/experience from throughout this year?

This year has been great for me with so many incredible opportunities in both music and acting. My favorite memory this year so far was performing my song “After Midnight” in front of 10,000 people with DJ Slushii in San Diego. I never imagined that I would get that opportunity so soon and it was surreal.

At such a young age, you have been successful in garnering an immensely positive fanbase from around the world. How does it feel to know that you’re getting recognized for all your work and have successfully built such a supportive community?

I couldn’t do any of what I do, or accomplish anything I have without my fans and I owe it all to them. I’m extremely grateful for every one of them. I only hope to grow this family, my “solmates”, as I progress in my career. I’m taking them with me on this journey and it’s gonna be a crazy but fun one, we have some big things in the works.

Let’s talk about your recent track “H8 December”. It’s such a phenomenal song! How did the general creative process go about in terms of this project? Did you face any kind of challenge during the production stage of the track?

Creating this song was so much fun for me. I was honored to work with 2 incredible musicians DJ Slushii and Aviella with amazing ideas and when we all came together with all our ideas and unique styles, it was magic. Within 15 minutes of sitting down together we had H8 December written. We never really had any challenges, we all got the chance to put our ideas into play and we just clicked and it just worked.

How did the collaboration with the wonderful Slushii and Aviella come into existence? How was your experience working with them?

It was one phone call from Slushii to Aviella and I, to put this collaboration together. Slushii had worked with both Aviella and I separately on different projects and wanted to see how we would work together. The mind both Slushii and Aviella have is just absolutely incredible. My experience working with Slushii and Aviella was so interesting to me because I had never really collaborated with other artists. I am so used to writing by myself so It was such an amazing experience to be able to bounce ideas off of others and see how my ideas contributed to the final project. I cant wait to collab with them again and more people that have creative minds and make more hits like H8 December.

Are you enjoying the response you have received on the track so far?

The responses we have had from the track are great. A lot of Slushii’s fans were not expecting him to release a track in this style as it’s not his normal sound, but it turns out everyone loves it and wants more from him like H8 December and After Midnight. The response from mine and Aviella’s fans was also great and super positive. My fans have been waiting for new music from me for a long time so they were so excited and happy to hear it and are constantly asking for more haha.

You are known for your acting and vocal skills and more prominently as the lead voice of P.U.P in the “Airbud Pup Star” series on Netflix. What can you tell us about this specific endeavor?

I originally did not think I was going to book the role because the character of P.U.P required a New York (Brooklyn) accent and being from the UK and having a British accent, that was a challenge for me. It turns out I have a pretty good Brooklyn accent because I booked the role haha. It was such an incredible experience to be a part of. Everyone on set was amazing to work with and I would do it all over again if I could.

Is there anything on your bucket list that you really want to achieve by the end of this year?

I really want to jump out a plane and skydive. I haven’t had the chance too yet, I’m trying to convince my mom and she doesn’t want me too haha. The big dream musically for me is to sell out and perform at Madison Square Garden in NYC. I’m not sure if that will happen this year but I believe with hard work it will happen and it’s at the top of my bucket list for sure.

Lastly, is there any message you’d like to convey to your fans reading this interview currently?

Please keep following and enjoying my journey. There’s some really cool things coming up and I’m excited to take you guys with me. Thank you for all your support. I love my “solmates”!
