Acting is one of the many diverse talents that Karishma Kotak possesses. Besides being a phenomenal model, host and actor, Karishma has established a huge fan-base through her widely known sports presenting. Many people know her from the sixth season of the highly recognized reality television series ‘Big Boss’. After the series ended, Karishma had entered the field of sports. She could be seen doing live presenting for Indian Premier League, the World Cup as well as many other prominent sports tournaments.

We recently had a conversation with our latest cover star Karishma Kotak in order to discuss her phenomenal journey so far and what’s in store for Karishma’s future!

Hi there Karishma. Thank you for joining us on ReVamp! How is 2021 treating you so far?

2021 has been far more difficult than 2020. I think the last year we were still not sure about the pandemic and how things would play out and there was a lot of uncertainty. 2021 has been pretty tough until about two months ago. For me, travelling every three weeks, hosting live shows, doing corporate events, hosting cricket leagues to doing none of that and just working from home- doing zoom events, taking care of my dog. All of these things has been a pretty extreme change from how things were but I have to say, honestly, in the past two-three months, things have definitely picked up! The second half of this year has been looking much better than the beginning of the year.

Is there anything specific that you’re currently doing in order to maintain your creativity during times like these?

To be honest, I work very hard every single day. Six days a week, I like to do a hit session, weight training, cardio or a five mile walk. Those have to be some of the things I’ve been doing in order to keep myself busy when work was down but now I have been super busy with everything. I also started a YouTube channel! So, once or twice a week we shoot for that and it has definitely been keeping my creative juices flowing!

You have been a part of numerous movies, television series and other extremely successful and well received projects throughout your life. What was it initially that brought you closer to the field of entertainment?

When I was younger, I was studying marketing and advertising. I was always modelling part time and I really think I was quite lucky because this has been the only source of income that I have for the past twenty two years. Being a creative person, I knew I wanted to do anchoring, modelling, acting or TV presenting. I have never put myself in a box. As a creative person, you want to do different things and luckily I have had the chance to do a lot of that!

Besides acting and modelling, your interests branch out to a diverse number of fields. You are also a phenomenal sports presenter. How was the experience like delving into this field and how did you first come to this massive decision that you wanted to try out your luck within the field of sports as well?

I love T.V presenting, anchoring, cricket and football! Any kind of live sport gets the adrenaline rushing! There are 50,000 fans screaming and you’re in the middle of the hustle and the bustle so it really is a great feeling. After doing the sixth season of Big Boss, I auditioned for IPL (Indian Premier League) and I did around 3–4 rounds of IPL auditions as I initially never knew how to do live anchoring in terms of having a producer who is in your ear and all the things affiliated with it. I was always on stage when and I used to have an auto cue to read from and live television is completely different. Once you can do that, you can pretty much do anything else.

What is the one thing that you think your fans should definitely know about you as a person which they might not get to know about you otherwise?

I like a lot of my own space. If you give me some good movies or a good book to read, I will be very contend with that. I don’t have FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out). I am not someone who likes to go out and party every single day. I have the same college friends who I like to go out with but other than that, I’m actually quite a private person.

What are the top 3 things in your bucket list that you really want to achieve by the end of this year?

Firstly, I aim to be at peace mentally with any given situation. Secondly, I really want to have a baby. That’s for sure! Thirdly, I want to do more for others. I want to help more, do more charity work, be more mindful of our lovely environment and learn how to take care of it.

What’s next for you, Karishma? Any plans on your upcoming projects/collaborations that you would like to hint your fans about?

There’s a lot of things happening at the moment! I have a movie with Rohit Roy called “Screem” which will be releasing soon. I have also signed as the brand ambassador for a brand called ‘Come on Cricket’. I’m in Dubai currently as I’m hosting a lot of games at the World Cup and have recently signed with a brand to be the face of their beauty products.

Lastly, is there any message that you wish to convey to your fans reading this interview right now?

Thank you guys for all your love and support! I really do appreciate you all getting me to one million followers on Instagram. I do take out time to read your messages and your comments and I’m forever grateful! Let’s all be kind to one another.
