Hi there Jubin! So lovely to have you over at ReVamp! How are you doing? How did 2021 treat you so far?

Hello! I have been well, Thank you. Year 2021 has been a year of mixed feelings. As in the beginning of the year we struck with second wave of pandemic and it was bit more devastating, as the year went by we also sort of got back to life with work with the new norms so yeah it’s been good as we all tried to get back to life after facing hard time of our lives. I have been constantly working on my songs one after the other. I have been overwhelmed with the love and appreciation my songs received from fans and audiences across globe, that has been my workforce to constantly on move and work better for my next.

Is there anything that you’re currently doing in order to maintain your productivity during challenging times like these?

I have used my time constructively and have learnt new skills during pandemic, worked on my vocals of new songs and listening to new music, creating new music which made my connection strong with my fans and audiences. I constant with work, recording, shooting at places across country and concerts. My biggest joy comes from performing live before my fans and audiences and I have got chance to perform my latest songs which indeed makes me happy to see their love and warmth for me.

You recently released your phenomenal new track ‘Udd Jaa Parindey’. Huge congratulations on that! What was the creative process like with the song? Did you face any sort of challenge during the production stage of the project?

It started from a melody that Mithoon sir made and he shared his melody with me. When I heard the melody, I was so excited about it. I loved it. In fact, I was thinking that how can we just kind of take this idea to another level. Because we could understand the beauty of it. Later on, I recorded the song and sent it to Mithoon sir and like it how I was sounding on it the most.

We worked on this song during lockdown and while Mithoon sir was in Mumbai, I was in Dehradun my hometown, there I did not have a setup, I did not have a laptop. He called me and told me, ‘Please get your setup ready. We have a lot of work to do. Lockdown is for the world, lockdown is not for us,’ and that’s how we did song. I got myself a laptop, a mic and stuff. I call myself an engineer, I had to learn how to operate the system myself. That much of passionate we were to work on this song.

When it comes to creation of music, do you prefer a specific environment to get your creative juices flowing or do you consider yourself to be easily flexible?

I hail from a small town Dehradun in Uttarakhand and my love for mountain is no hidden. They inspire me in life to go ahead, be strong, create beautiful and soothing music which touch your soul. I love to be out with mother nature, coz the love which I receive is so pure and innocent and that help me in my music as well. Whenever I feel off I think of mountains, being there and it helps me give my the best work. So yes I am a romantic soul and in love with nature. Definitely during lockdown we all have learnt one thing- that is to work from anywhere in the world and adapt to it too.

You have gained such a massive fanbase over the past few years. Do you think that having such an enormous support adds a sort of pressure to your tracks, or is it something that you perceive as a personal motivation?

To be honest, it overwhelmed me seeing the love I received from my fans and audiences across the globe. Their love is so pure and unconditional that It definitely works as a motivational force for me to give my best to each song, get it better than the last one and more over it’s a constant reminder to me whenever I feel off or pressure that there are millions of fans eagerly waiting for my song, so definitely I just find the way to work through it and jump back with full force to give my best.

What’s the one thing that you think your fans should definitely know about you as a person which they might not get to know about you by listening solely to your music?

Well, I think there is nothing of such secret about me that my fans doesn’t know. Sometimes it amuses me how much they know about me, it’s surprised me actually. Although I would definitely like to share one thing with them- Life will push you down 99 times but you have to get up at hundredth time. Don’t struggle, you should hustle. If you’re struggling with it then you’re in the wrong line of work, then go back and better at your craft and get better to the point that you stop struggling and starts having fun with it. Wish them lots of love and happiness.

Who are the top three artists on Jubin Nautiyal’s music playlist right now? Is there anyone on your radar who you would absolutely love to collaborate with in the future?

I love to listening to Kishore da for being definition of heroism, Rafi sahab how beautifully and lightly you say deepest of things with smile on your face I have learnt that from him and Nusrat sahab for how live performance sound like a recording and how recording can sound like live performance that’s magical. They are magical and I enjoy listening to them. Apart from that, I listen to a lot of great artists. Amy Winehouse, John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Damien Rice and many more.

What’s next for you, Jubin? Have you set yourself any goals for the year 2022? Any upcoming projects of yours that you’d like to tell your fans about?

After my song ‘Udd Ja Parindey’ one more is about to release and you’ll get to know about it soon. So for another year, you will see me work on some really cool songs, you will get to hear a lot of new music. I would want to put out other flavors of my voice for my fans to enjoy. I’m excited about the journey ahead.

Lastly, is there any message that you would like to convey to your fans reading this interview right now?

I would like to express my gratitude towards my fans across the globe for showering so much love and warmth on me. I want to let them know their unconditional love is my ultimate source to create more and more good music, to sing more and better songs, to always entertain you, maintain that special connection with you so they keep loving me back the way they are.
