Defined as the ‘Future of Pop’, the rising sensation is set to release her highly awaited debut album on July 9th of this year, which her fans are extremely eager to listen to.

Olivia recently sat down with ReVamp in order to delve deep into the creative process behind her recent music as well as discuss some significant insights into her journey as a phenomenal artist.

Hi there Olivia! Thank you for joining us on ReVamp! How is 2021 treating you so far?

Hello! Thanks so much for taking the time to chat. 2021 Has been good to me so far, It's also hopeful to see the world slowly getting back to normal.

Did you ever plan out to do something before entering the music industry or was being a professional musician always your first passion?

For me, I have always known music was my path. By the eleventh grade I was playing at coffee shops and local venues in my city. I'm so grateful to have such a supportive family who continues to encourage me on this musical journey.

You recently released your incredible new single ‘Who Could Say No’ on May 28th of this year. Congratulations on that! How has the response been like so far on the track?

Thank you so much! The song has been received very well! People are loving the call to disco music and are saying it's a perfect song for summertime! Growing up my dad played lots of disco tunes, so It's been fun to recreate that familiar sound!

Kindly walk us through the creative process of the track. Did you face any kind of challenges during the production stage of the song?

While I usually draw heavily from heartbreak and the spiralling emotions that come with it, WCSN is a departure from that as it’s playful and upbeat! Working with Boi-1da, Heartbeat (Tally & Mandee), and YogiTheProducer on this track was incredibly inspiring for me. This song came about one night in the studio. The idea itself was influenced by the blue lights and vibey studio atmosphere! I feel that the energy of this song really does replicate the amazing energy we had the night it came to life.

Did your initial visualization of the track match up with the final outcome?

The outcome of the track matches my visualisation to a t! I wanted to create a song that was fun and empowering and I'm very happy with how we accomplished that.

When it comes to creation of music, do you need a specific setting to work in or do you consider yourself easily to be easily flexible?

My writing process has always been very spontaneous. Throughout the day I'll write down lyric ideas or phrases on my phone or hum a melody on a voice memo. Sometimes when I sit down to write a song one will come out in it's in entirety, other times I'll write a hook or verse idea! In my experience, the best songs have usually come about in the most organic sessions and moments!

Who are the top 3 artists on your music playlist right now?

I've been loving SG Lewis, Daniel Caesar is always on heavy rotation and Noah Cyrus (specifically ‘Dear August’)

What’s next for Olivia? Any upcoming music that you would like to hint your fans about?

I'm beyond excited to be releasing my Debut Album on July 9th! This body of work is so special to me and shows the different sides to my artistry!

Lastly, I would like to ask you if there's anything that you wish to convey to your fans and supporters?

Self-care is so important! Even if it's only 5 minutes, be sure to take a moment out of your day to nurture your body and mind :) you are loved!
