Liberty is a 18 year old singer-songwriter from London who has recently released a new track called 'sixteen' with two of the hottest producers in the industry, Rick Live and TRP.  Liberty wrote the track at the age of sixteen where she talks about her struggles and hoped that people could relate to the lyrics.

Years later, Liberty brought the track to the producers who then turned it in to a dance track. We got to interview Liberty about the record, who she looks up to and what she's currently working on.

Firstly, Congratulations on the new single ‘sixteen’, what made you want to openly talk about your struggles as a 16-year-old?

Thank you so much! I decided to write the song as I had a really hard time at sixteen. I believe a lot of people underestimate the struggles that the youth have to go through and I wanted to get that across in the song, so people are more understanding with youngsters if they seem a bit moody or unsociable. Also that other people around that age know they’re not alone with what they’re going through!

You've teamed up with one of the hottest producers in the industry, how did that make you feel?

Rick and Tony are both amazing and I’m so glad we could get together to create the song it was amazing and I’m so happy with how it turned out!

How did you start the creative process and how long would you say it took?

So to write the song it took me about 30 minutes but I then went to an amazing artist called James Smith and we chopped and changed a few lyrics. This was 2 years ago! I recorded the vocals and sent them over in 2020 and then it was down to Rick and Tony to create the rest of the track and that didn’t take long at all! It was all ready and then released in 2021!

Who do you look up to?

My biggest inspirations are Amy Winehouse, Billie Eilish and Jessie J! Girl power! They’re all amazing artists with such individuality and that is what I love about them the most and of course there incredible vocals as well!

What made you want to get into singing?

Well I’ve always loved musicals and films with music like High School Musical and I used to dance around the rooms singing the songs. Honestly I think it was from then as I just loved the joy it brung me but also I realised how much joy my music could bring to other people also.

How did you want the song ‘sixteen’ to be perceived for listeners?

I really just wanted it to be a relatable song for youngsters that they can dance around too!

What are you both currently working on at the moment?

I am currently working on writing as much music as I can to hopefully get recorded and released soon!
