Interview & Editor-in-chief: Owen James Vincent

With “My Girls (Love Me Better)”, Harleymoon Kemp trades heartbreak ballads for a fierce love letter to her ride-or-die crew. Produced in Nashville with the Liz Rose Music team, the track stomps through country-pop territory with grit, guitars, and unapologetic girl power. It’s a shout-out to the friendships that outlast every breakup — the ones who pick you up, pour the shots, and dance on tables right beside you. Loud, loyal, and full of fire, “My Girls (Love Me Better)” isn’t just a song — it’s an anthem for the women who love you harder than any guy ever could.

“My Girls (Love Me Better)” feels like a real anthem for friendship. What inspired you to write a song celebrating sisterhood instead of romance?

My best friends have been my greatest relationships, together since we were 14, and we have had each other's backs in every situation! We have listened to each other's heartbreaks, picked each other up, danced on the tables, and been on the best vacations..They have never judged me, only ever loved me. These girls deserve a song.

You wrote the track in Nashville and worked with the Liz Rose Music team, who’ve collaborated with legends like Taylor Swift and Miranda Lambert. What was that creative experience like for you?

I usually always have the concept first, I knew I wanted to write a song about sisterhood and how much my friends would hunt down any man that broke my heart.. Usually, I take the idea into a room, the guitars get strumming, and the rest is history!!

The song is described as a “stomping country-pop anthem.” How did you find the right balance between your country roots and a modern pop sound?

Honestly, I just make the music I want to hear! I love country, I love girl power, I love guitars and dancing.. I like to be involved with the production process as much as possible because I want to make songs that people clap and shake their butts to at my show!!

You’ve said this song is for “the besties who love you harder than any guy ever could.” Do you have a particular friend group or moment that inspired that line?

Yes - my best girlfriends are SOLID. We support each other in everything - good and bad. They are in every line in this song!

The lyrics paint such a vivid picture of friendship - dancing on tables, ugly crying, starting a riot for each other. How much of that comes from your real life?

Every word of this song rings true - I wrote it in about an hour, it was so easy to write! Everyone has that one friend on live location, that one friend who will sit on the phone for hours and hours listening to you talk about your latest heartbreak and that one friend who will just take you out and buy a round!! We girls know what each other needs!

Female friendship isn’t always the focus in music - especially in country-pop. Was it important to you to spotlight that kind of emotional bond?

Yes, I think it's just generally about best friends - who have seen you in and out of relationships and have been the underlying support and love you need. Sometimes we forget how important these relationships are!!

Can you tell us about the music video or visual direction for “My Girls”? How did you bring that wild, unshakable energy to life on screen?

My friend Sam Hard is a car guy!! He told me about a wreck yard with old bangers, trailers, and American cars. I thought... badass girls dancing on a car... that sounds just the ticket!

You’ve had a substantial rise as a country-pop artist in the UK scene. How do you hope “My Girls (Love Me Better)” will connect with your fans - and what’s next for you after this release

I am going to appear on Celebrity Race Across The World on the BBC this Autumn.... a whole world of craziness is about to be revealed!!
