Elizabeth Tan is an incredible actress who has been taking the entertainment industry by storm from starring in shows such as Doctor Who to Top Boy to Emily in Paris, we can say that Tan has big things ahead.

Tan talks to us about her new role in Netflix's number one movie 'Irish Wish' opposite the Freaky Friday star, Lindsay Lohan.

Hi Elizabeth! Congratulations on your new Netflix film ‘Irish Wish’. What can you tell us about the film?

Hey thanks a lot. We’ve just come back from the premiere of Irish Wish in New York and the movie had an enormous audience response, so we are very excited about it. It’s a fun comedy about courage, finding true love, chasing your dreams and friendships. Set in Ireland among its stunning landscapes and locations, it’s a feast for your eyes. We filmed in places like Killruddery House & Gardens, the Cliffs of Moher, Lough Tay and the beautiful town of Westport.

Can you tell us a little about the role you’re playing?

I play Emma Taylor who is best friends with Maddie Kelly (Lindsay Lohan). In the story, Emma gets engaged to the man that Maddie is secretly in love with. One day, Maddie makes a magical wish that she is to be the bride. The wish is granted and then a lot of comedy and drama ensues.

How was it working with the Mean Girls star, Lindsay Lohan? You must have shared some great memories with her?

Lindsay Lohan is a consummate professional. She works very hard and is a fabulous scene partner. We had a great time together on and off set.

You have so many amazing projects coming out with Netflix which includes Top Boy & Emily in Paris. Congratulations! How does it feel jumping from one genre to another as these two shows are so different?

Thanks a lot. I really enjoy creating distinct characters and every genre (and perhaps every project for that matter), has its own unique rhythm, tone, and energy. It’s always exciting to collaborate and find that with the other creatives on each project.

What do you like to get up to when you’re not in front of the camera?

I like to be active and really enjoy rock climbing, trail running and martial arts, particularly, Wing Chun Kung Fu, Boxing and Muay Thai Kickboxing. I am also writing and developing a couple of projects.

Are there any dream roles that you would like to get your hands on?

I’ve been working with some British fight choreographers and I’d love to do another action thriller. I’ve been practicing a lot of new skills with weapons and with my martial arts/boxing training. It would be great to  put those to use in a thrilling story with a lot of heart.
