A Fashion Editor’s Guide to Copenhagen

Fashion Week Edition

13th February 2024

This season ReVamp headed to Copenhagen to kick off the AW24 fashion week season. Below we’ve rounded up our favourite food destinations; Scandi porridge bowls will change your breakfast routine forever, where’s best to shop and stay while visiting the city. While running around fashion shows, we snuck in a fair share of sightseeing and would highly recommend the city - especially for shopping. Think hopping on a plane once a year to indulge in all your wardrobe needs rather than quick buys at home!!

Where To Stay Hotel Mayfair

https://www.hotelmayfair.dk/

The perfect hotel for a fun, fashionable, busy city break. Hotel Mayfair beat my expectations, honestly. Situated in the meatpacking district, it’s a 5 minute walk from the train station - perfect for avoiding lugging your suitcase around or taxi fares - surrounded by gorgeous restaurants, vibey bars and very cute shops, it would be easy not to leave the area. It’s chic, elegant decor greets you the moment you walk through the door. Kind receptionists, comfy seating dotted around the entrance way and leading through to the joining lounge rooms, perfect for catching up with emails or sipping a coffee. Slick art work adorns the walls, cute nik-naks are dotted around and gentle music fills the rooms giving the hotel a home away from home feel. We stayed in the twin room, which wasn’t one of the newly refurbished rooms the hotel has since completed, but was comfortable and chic nevertheless. The beds were very comfortable, needed after show hopping all day, the room was ample size for 2 people to get ready in and the hotel had a more sustainable front to room cleaning in that you ask at reception instead of unnecessary fresh linen each day. There were many spots around the hotel for working or lounging during the day; sofas, arm chairs, stools and tables are found in every room and even large corridor space. The hotel staff couldn't be more helpful and the hotel is accessible all night with your key card. Bikes are available, lined up outside the hotel, if you fancy taking to the city like a local. Overall we’d highly recommend a stay at Hotel Mayfair.

Where To Shop - Vintage

Times Up Vintage

Times Up Vintage is an effortlessly chic, slick and welcoming vintage store. Window displays of beautiful pieces, from boots to bags to jewellery, adorned over coffee table books and stands leaves it impossible for you not to be drawn through the doors. It’s clear a high level of care and skill has been taken to the display of this store and it’s quality is equal to that of the clothes it sells. Silk scarves are folded neatly under glass cabinets, handmade bags and delicate jewllery are on display. You can expect to find unique vintage Roberto Cavailli coats and classic Chanel pumps alongside local vintage velvet trousers and knee high boots displayed alongside artwork. It’s a must visit when in Copenhagen.

Magnolias

If designer labels are what you’re in search for, stop your search and head straight to Magnolias. Nestled behind cast iron gates, this basement store is a hidden gem. Carefully curated, colour coordinated rails catch your eye and if that wasn’t enough to get any shopper excited, size ordered designer label shoes sit above and below each rail, allowing you to put together an outfit as you browse. Expect to find Celine tops, Miu Miu dresses, Saint Laurent blazers and Chanel skiing trousers at the ready for you. Every label you can dream of is in this store; Burberry bags can be found dangling along the handbag racks and looks are ready made for you hung around the walls. This store is vintage heaven.

Where To Shop - New

Melange de Luxe

While I’m a vintage shopping advocate, you cannot go to Copenhagen and not visit Melange de Luxe. We stumbled across the store accidentally while strolling back from a show and actually gasped when we saw the window. The incredibly fashionable and friendly store owner had just opened when we bundled through the door. Colour, glitter, glitz, faux fur, pattern - this store has it all. With a 70% off rail it would’ve been rude to leave without anything! With local designer labels and those from further afield alike, this store has something for everyone.

Ganni Outlet

You can’t visit Copenhagen without acknowledging the high rising brand that is Ganni. The Ganni stores alone are tempting but Copenhagen has a special outlet store that is a must visit! Find all season, sustainable, sneaky find pieces in here and leave with a bit of Copenhagen in your hand luggage!

Where To Eat Delphines

https://cofoco.dk/en/delphine/

A must visit for a more glam, spoil yourself night out. But if you only go to see the toilets and get a bathroom selfie it’ll be worth it! Pre-book so you’re not disappointed on arrival, we had bar seating and I’d recommend. Mediterranean, sharing style food; padron peppers, calamari, feta dip and flat bread, ceviche, olives, fries and delicious cocktails without being rushed off when finished will have you sat people watching all night. A gentle buzz fills the modern but scandi restaurant in it’s bright, spacious and air-y space. With well dressed servers and well dressed guests alike, Delphine’s is the perfect place to be transported to the Mediterranean coastline and escape the Copenhagen winter for a few hours.

Gorm

https://wearegorms.dk/restauranter/gorms-nyhavn/

This cozy, candlelit, basement pizza restaurant will have you drawn away from the busyness of Nyhavn for a few hours to indulge and relax. With a warm atmosphere from the moment you walk through the door, your first impression is that of comfort, and it continues with the food. Huge, thin crispy pizzas, delicious wine and starters to double as your main will have you leaving wanting more while unable to fit more! The perfect spot for and easy, warming, wholesome dinner and quite chatter

42Raw

https://www.42raw.com/

We ate at 42Raw about 3 times during our fashion week visit to Copenhagen. The perfect on-the-go lunch, so filling, but packed with goodness. Pick from Poke bowls (highly recommend the salmon poke), burgers or sandwiches and pair with a vitamin packed juice, our favorites were the Paris and the New York. With bench style seating keeps the space sleek for in and out lunch runners, but leaves enough space for those who want to take their time.
