After a stellar 2023 that cemented her sass-shaped sonic imprint in the current soundscape, pop sensation Glowe is set to make an even more indelible mark with her upcoming release, "Mean Girls."

Timed impeccably with the release of the new 'Mean Girls' musical, Glowe's single promises to captivate audiences not only with its infectious beats and catchy melodies but also with its empowering message. The accompanying official music video is anticipated to be a visual spectacle, further amplifying the song's powerful message of empowerment.

Hi Glowe! Congratulations on your single ‘Mean Girls’. What was the inspiration behind the single?

Hey! Thank you so much. I wanted to write a song that could be used as a tool on my sad days. Something I could blare through the speakers and scream at the top of my lungs to remind me exactly who TF I am.

How is this single different from your previous singles?

This song definitely brings a new energy to my music. I’m in a pretty confident and happy place in my life at the moment and my new music is really a reflection of this. I’m only interested in fun music and fun things.

Having said that, although it's a super high energy song, the meaning is so important to me. Being a woman in such a tough industry as music, I think you have to be a little mean in order not to be walked all over. Past experiences fuelled me to write this song and claim back some control into my own life.

The music video for ‘Mean Girls’ is so fetch! What was it like creating the video?

This is my favourite video I’ve ever released. I pulled in every favour under the sun to make this happen on an independent artist budget. I’m so grateful for everyone who came together for this. The location was a friend of a friend's house, two of my besties were the actors and it was directed by the amazing @amina.film who I’ve been working with for over 5 years. It’s amazing to really grow with her and see our careers blossoming. Huge shoutout to the DOP (@officialbenjsmith) and crew for being so professional and making the whole day such great vibes.

Do you have any funny behind-the-scenes stories that happened on set?

We actually only filmed this video about 3 weeks ago! Nothing like last minute (eek).  This wizard Taylor Caddick (editor) turned it around in 48 hours! I’m so grateful to have such positive and hard working people around me. The actual day of filming was so much fun and honestly just felt like a day out with friends.

What are your plans for the rest of the year? Will we be getting an EP or album from you?

Expect an EP coming soon and helllaaa SHOWS. I love playing live more than anything and I want to keep running my own events. Last year I curated parties with live acts, DJs, clothing stalls, tooth gems etc. It was so much fun and I want to keep uplifting and promoting the other creatives around me as much as I can.

Ok, so a fun question for you… Which member from The Plastics would you be and why?

Although I’d love to be Regina, I think I’d be more of a Gretchen. I am so chaotic and I love gossip. I wish I was the queen bee but really I just stir the pot.

Lastly, thank you so much for talking to us! Before you leave us… if you had the opportunity to ReVamp anything in the world. What would it be and why?

Thanks so much for having me! I think if anything in the world could be revamped, I’d say the UK government. Get Rishi gone. I should be prime minister.
