Named after the classic song by Jocelyn Brown, Somebody Else's Guy is a new, exciting, sustainable fashion brand from the mind of Newcastle based designer Corey Dixon.  Her unique items are gender neutral and celebrate the diversity in our society. The only labels here, are the classic songs each garment pays tribute to.

If you've been following ReVamp since the very beginning you would know that we love teaming up with Corey Dixon as she brings all her amazing garments on our shoots. We chat to Dixon about her favourite shoot we worked on, how she became a fashion designer and dream celebrities she would love to style.

Hi Corey! We are so honoured to interview you for ReVamp. You’ve been part of the ReVamp team for many years. What would you say was your favourite photoshoot we worked on together?

I’ve loved everything we’ve done together. All for different reasons but if I had to choose, I think I would say Corrina Brown’s. That was a real moment where I thought our team work really brought the best out of my work.

When did you notice you wanted to be come a fashion designer?

It’s honestly not something I ever imagined would happen. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always been obsessed with fashion but it wasn’t until 2021 when I had a big life realisation and thought stuff it, life’s too short, I’m guna go for it.

If you could describe your style in 3 words what would it be?

Unique - Each garment is up-cycled and bespoke making them one of one.

Loud - A bit like me. There’s a lot of passion and creativity that goes into each garment.

Gender fluid - My clothes are for everyone. I want everyone to be able to express themselves and feel confident and proud.

Who are your favourite artists? Who do you get inspired by?

I think Alexander McQueen is always someone who stood out to me. He really married artistry into his collections.

Are there any dream celebrities you would love to dress up?

Billy Porter. I love how out there he dresses. Dressing someone like Gigi Hadid would also be pretty iconic as well.

Lastly, what do you want to achieve in 2024?

I want to carry on the way I’m going. I want to continue dressing for red carpets and events and continue building such an amazing client base. I also want to try and fit in more time to create all the ideas I have floating around in my crazy little head.
