To kick off our first cover of December goes to the talented dancer and actor, Harry Carter. Carter was part of the iconic dance group Magic Mike Live but recently decided to take a step away and have a complete ReVamp!

Carter chats to us about his next chapter, secret hobbies, and dreams he would love to make reality.

Hello Harry! You’re our latest cover star for ReVamp. We are so honoured to have you! How has 2023 been for you?

I'm honoured to be apart of ReVamp! My 2023 has been great; mixed with lots of ups and downs and big changes in life but all great and exciting.

What was growing up like for you? When did you notice you had a passion for dancing?

Growing up in Blackburn Lancashire was an interesting one though I am very proud of where I am from and my upbringing. I had it came with it's challenges and highs and big lows there. I experienced a lot growing up but also there’s not a lot of opportunity up north and it can be a tough environment but this just fuels your fire and makes you want to achieve your goals more. I noticed I had a passion for dance when I saw a dance group called the Jabbawockeez on Americas Best Dance Crew I was memorised by them and wanted to be like them.

You’ve recently left Magic Mike Live after five years! Why did you make that decision?

It was a hard choice as the Magic Mike family has been a big part of my life for five years and I went through major eventful moments in my life during that time. I'm always looking for new challenges and goals to conquer but acting in film and television is my next mountain to climb.

Talking about acting you've starred in the movie, Magic Mike: The Last Dance with Channing Tatum and Salma Hayek. What was it like being on set with Channing Tatum and dancing with an A-List star?

I’ve known Chan for some years now and he’s always the coolest guy on set and off. He’s such a great role model and just a good dude and friend that you can’t help but admire and love the guy. I am forever grateful for what he has done for me.

Salma is the funniest person ever! We got on like a house on fire and she just breeds confidence and just breathes enjoyment she was always great with me and the rest of the crew. One time she invited us over to her and her husband’s house to celebrate finishing the very wholesome movie.

You’ve mentioned you’re now more interested in acting. What would your dream role be?

My dream role would be to be in a DC film or series as Bane or any villain or superhero and also to be a lead in a dramatic war film.

Is there anything we don’t know about you? Any secret talents?

Yes! I am a licensed scuba diver with over twelve years experience.

What’s next for you? Is there anything you can tell us?

I have a new short film coming out next year called The Valley of Bricks! I'm very excited for everyone to see.

Lastly, if you had the opportunity to ReVamp anything in the world. What would it be and why?

I would revamp the arts in the north to make it better and more funded why? So it can provide more opportunity  inspiration  and creativity for people wanting to be performers in the north because we have a lot to offer.
