ReVamp: The Inner Screen’s lead writer, Shane Ramdhany, interviews up and coming star , Thomas Parobek, who plays Ezra in the Apple Plus series “The Crowded Room” with Tom Holland. Thomas discusses his experience working on the show and provides insight into his passion for acting.

What was your experience like working on the “Crowded Room,” alongside Tom Holland?

It was crazy! I couldn’t believe it when they called and told me I got the role. I’m a huge fan of Tom Holland. Once I found out Amanda Seyfried was playing my mom, I watched a lot of stuff she was in! It was an amazing experience because everyone was so welcoming and kind to me. I really felt spoiled on set. I did magic tricks for them and even played a “bean boozled” Jellybean trick on some of them including Amanda. It was pretty hilarious.

What was the biggest challenge for you working on this show?

I think I knew what I was getting into…I knew my lines and how Ezra was supposed to be, so it wasn’t hard. He's just a kid like me. Amanda and Laila Robins (my grandmother on set) made it all so easy and fun. We had a great time together. They were the best. 

Who is your role model?

My Mom and Dad. And definitely my brother, Michael, who is 13. He’s the best brother and friend and spends so much time with me.

What is your idea of the perfect role?

I’ve always wanted to be on set of a show like Stranger Things. I love horror, thrillers, mysteries… It’s fun because you know it’s not real, so you’re not scared…You just have fun pretending.

How do you like to spend your time when you aren’t in school/acting?

Typical kid stuff. I do karate, swim, and take voice lessons. I live on a cul-de-sac so I play basketball outside with my friends, ride my bike and do scooters. I also love gaming and drawing. My favorite game right now is probably Minecraft or “Stormworks” on the PC. 

Can you tell us about any upcoming projects?

Besides The Crowded Room, I have two feature films coming out later this year. One is called “Love Dogs” and one is called “Never Give Up”. “Never Give Up” is a true story about a deaf tennis player, and I am a lead actor in that. It comes out in theatres September 1st.
