16th April 2023

Interview & Editor-in-chief: Owen James Vincent

Ava Louise Murchison is an upcoming actress who has taken her first lead role in the AppleTV+ show, 'Jane'. We got to chat to Murchison about her new role, what we can expect from the show and projects she's excited about telling us.

Hello Ava! Welcome to ReVamp! It’s so nice to have you here. How has your year been so far?

This year's been pretty exciting knowing that the show I'm in, "Jane," is finally out. It's also been great going to school and spending quality time with family and friends.

You’re starring in the AppleTV+ series, 'Jane' and playing the lead role of Jane. Congratulations! What can you tell the readers about this show? What can they expect?

“Jane” is a super fun, adventurous, and educational show on Apple TV+ that follows Jane Garcia, a little girl who desperately wants to save endangered animals. She imagines incredible situations to save these animals, and these bleed into the real world to make a difference. You can expect to see a lot of action and heart-warming scenes that will inspire kids and families around the world.

What was the audition process like?

When I first read the script, I immediately loved it and had so much fun acting it out. I jumped up and down with my mom when I found out I booked it because I couldn't contain my excitement and joy. I've always be grateful up to this day.

Jane gets to go around with her best friend David (played by Mason Blomberg) and chimpanzee Greybeard on epic adventures. What was your favorite adventure to film?

I have many favourite episodes and one of them is the Shark adventure because we got to run around the grocery store and got to stay up late until 4am! I'm a night owl so I didn't even yawn at all through the night and I did all the action shots without a stunt double!

Jane also reminds me of Dr. Doolittle and Eliza from The Wild Thornberrys. Did you do some research on what Jane would be like working with animals?

I watched videos of Dr. Jane Goodall with chimpanzees and learned a lot. More importantly, I read all the scripts and know that Jane Garcia admires animals and wants nothing more than to follow in the footsteps of her hero Jane Goodall.

Lastly, have you got anything exciting coming up that you can tell us, readers?

I actually do. I am in this new cool crime drama tv series called, "Accused" from Emmy-award winning producer Howard Gordon. My episode aired on April 4th on FOX!
