Hi SHAB! Thank you for being our ReVamp cover star for International Women’s Month! How important is this month to you?

This month is very important to me for many reasons. First of all, I’m a refugee and imigrant, I’m just being very grateful to have this new life and my fellow women that are still left in Irian and over parts of the world who are still struggling with equality and basic human rights, my heart is with them and together we are always stronger and I always say that. This month is important because we are the divine feminine energy and the feminine energy heals the masculine energy some have more feminine energy as we know but women have come a long way to be able to vote and have the right to do different things than we could have done many years ago and unfortunately, we still have those inequalities throughout another world with women that are still struggling. As women, we need to be strong for our sons, brothers, husbands, and friends in the LGBTQIA+ community and to be able to lift each other up. If God chose us as the gateway then we burst both men and women. I feel like we are in a sense doing something with this power. As much as I like to preach women’s power I also like to help my men because I have friends that are men including my son and my partner. 

Your background is Iranian - how has it been growing up as an Iranian woman in this modern age?

I’m a sponge, so I’m very lucky to adapt to any environment very quickly but it has been very tough to be told not to be a woman or to feel sexy to be a woman until you get married. It’s still traumatizing for me as it's part of me that I’ve worked so hard on to heal and I still deal with certain issues that I’m still working through. It’s just every day you give yourself love to heal and to grow and to make yourself a better friend, a better partner, a better Mum, and a better sister. It took me some time to adapt but once I adapted it was very easy for me to learn the new culture we are created so differently that’s the amazing thing about us. 

Are there any women you look up to?

Absolutely! I look up to strong women that stood up for the world. I’m not going to name names but they know who they are. I honor them, I thank them and I also thank my Mother who raised thirteen kids by herself because my Dad died when I was six months old. I’m so grateful for my past because of who I am today and that’s because of my Mother. 

What did you dream of doing when you were a little girl?

First of all, I wanted to change the world [laughs]. I wanted to free everyone and take off this veil of life, just take it off and let the hair be free and if you choose to cover it up, that’s great too. I loved the music! Music was always part of my life, I loved acting, and I loved theatre. At first, I was a bit shy and I don’t know why but I know that I’m not anymore [laughs]. Music has saved me, it has healed me and I know a lot of people can relate to that.

What are you most proud of?

I’m proud of the woman I’m becoming, I’m proud of my pain because with the pain I created this beautiful home and just gave it love. I’m also grateful for the hardship because it has made me amazing and more of a wonderful human and I can understand people better. Everyone’s struggling with something - so always be nice to people. 

Have you got any messages you would like to contact all the women reading your cover story?

The message would be your divine, you are loved beyond and you are capable, you are talented, and don’t ever give up! Keep going! 

Lastly, have you got anything exciting coming up that you can tell us?

Oh yes! I’m going to LA with the kids, we have a house there. I’m shooting my new music video ‘Indestructible’ with Richie Jackson and it’s about empowering women so we can be strong for men and the men we love in our life. I’m also going into the studio to record three acoustic versions of my songs and of course, we have some tours coming in the UK, my new song ‘Voodoo’ will be coming out in the summer which is going to be big!
