Mandeep Dhillon, a British actress of Indian descent has been under the spotlight garnering an actively growing audience, all thanks to her renowned roles which can be witnessed in the highly successful Netflix series “After Life” opposite the sensational Ricky Gervais and most recently within the UK sitcom “Avoidance.” About to be seen as “Allie Rajan” in the second installment of “CBS’ CSI: Vegas”, Dhillon is described as the epitome of a cool girl, her passion residing in music and dance outside the field of acting. Mandeep is currently in the process of developing her own projects including her debut EP that she is set on releasing in the near future!

We recently had a chat with our latest cover star- the wonderful Mandeep Dhillon in order to discuss all things acting, personal struggles, future plans including her desire for a Punjabi superhero project as well as her role in the upcoming season of “CBS’ CSI: Vegas”.

Hi there Mandeep. So lovely to have you over at ReVamp! How are you doing? How is 2022 treating you so far?

Oi oi, thanks for having me! I am great thank you, currently sippin’ on a chamomile tea in LA, living my best life. I must say 2022 is treating me wonderfully!

I obviously have to start the interview by asking you what it was really that initially brought you closer to the field of entertainment?

I always performed as a child, if that was at home or at school or even in the supermarket, I was always in my own little fantasy head playing characters and creating stories. I knew I would always be doing what I do now, so I think it’s one of those things that it was just in me to be drawn to it.

When it comes to performing, do you possess any specific acting ritual that you immerse yourself in before finally going in front of the camera?

It really depends on the role/ job. My process is different depending on what kind of a world the character is in. For example, with a comedy I probably won’t do too much independent rehearsing as I need it to be fresh for my scene partner so we can bounce off each other. I like to do bonding exercises with my fellow actors or play games or just form a real human to human connection.

You have performed in so many widely loved projects. What is the biggest struggle that you have personally faced as an actor?

Sometimes when jobs clash, that can be a struggle. You may want to do both and sometimes that’s possible but the odd time it won’t be and you have to let go and let God take the wheel.

You will soon be seen as “Allie Rajan” in the highly anticipated second installment of the immensely popular show “CBS’ CSI: Vegas”. Huge congratulations on that! Is there anything that you can reveal about your character or the plot within the series?

Thank you! Allie is really focused on her work and levelling up within herself. She is no longer in a relationship, so she is sort of working out what and who she is now that she is single.

How was your overall experience like working on the set as well as with the cast?

Yeah, set life is fun. I mean, I refuse to not make set life fun. I’m there all the time so I make sure when I rock up, I rock up with my speakers, bring good music and vibes and have a good time. My cast are wonderful, everyone really likes each other. The crew are awesome too. As much as it’s about the work and the scenes and plot, for me acting is getting to know and love so many different people from all walks of life and support one another.

When it comes to choosing a project, what kind of factors do you usually take in before finally saying yes to it? In your future years, is there any specific type or genre of project that you’d definitely like to try out your luck in which you might not have gotten an opportunity to involve yourself in before?

My main thing is, is this script any good? What message is it telling the world? Is it important? Does it go against my morals? Will it help to heal, inspire, make people feel? The older I get the more I realize how important my voice is in this world and my purpose, so if something goes against that I refuse to do it. In the future I plan on creating/starring in a project that celebrates Punjabi women. A Punjabi superhero movie and it will be dope.

What’s next for you, Mandeep? Any upcoming projects you’re presently working on that you’d like to tell your fans about?

There are a few things happening. I have a few shows in development at the moment. I am also in the studio in between filming creating my first EP, fun times.

Lastly, is there any message you wish to convey to your supporters reading this interview currently?

I was in Santa Barbara recently, and I had a lovely chat with this shop owner. When I was leaving, she said ‘Mandeep, have a great life’ and I literally walked out the shop and started crying. What a beautiful thing to say to someone who you may never see again. So, to all the readers, please, have a great life! Know that you have the power within to make your life great!!!!
