More commonly known as the fun-loving Brainiac Gus among the millions of GenZ Chicken Girls fans, Santiago Carrera began his professional acting career when he was 12 years old after attending a global talent competition where he gained the attention from several leading agents and managers. Just 6 months into acting classes, Santiago was auditioning regularly for top network projects and landing callbacks with industry greats like Eva Longoria.

We recently had a chat with Carrera in order to know more about his acting journey.

Hi there Santiago. So lovely to have you over at ReVamp! How has the start of this year been for you?

My year’s been good so far! Industry-wise things have been a little slow due to COVID but I’ve been auditioning and working on my craft. In general, I’ve had a very fun year so far!

How did you initially discover that acting was something you wanted to pursue?

I always found school plays super fun, but eventually wanted to get more into the TV and Film stuff so I started taking local acting classes to get a feel for everything and I loved it! A few months after starting acting classes I started auditioning for huge projects with top-networks!

What according to you has been the most memorable experience of your journey?

Booking Gus on Chicken Girls has definitely been the most memorable experience of my journey, it was my first part and I made so many memories and met people who are now my best friends!

Let’s talk about your role as ‘Gus’ in the highly successful show ‘Chicken Girls’. Huge congratulations on the project! What can you tell us about your character in the show?

Gus is awkward but loves to have fun, you see him change quite a bit throughout the seasons he’s in. Gus is loyal to his friends and loves to help others out, he’s really sweet!

What’s next for you, Santiago? Anything on your bucket list for the year 2022?

As of now, there are no new projects, but my goal for this year is to start working on a new project by the end of the year.

Is there any message that you’d like to give to your fans reading this interview?

I’m so grateful for all of the love and support I’ve received these past two years of working on Chicken Girls, and I can’t wait for everyone to see my future projects!
