Widely known for her recurring role as Lucy Diaz on “Orange is the New Black”, Adriana Camposano was recently casted as Young Olga in the new Hulu Drama Pilot “Olga Dies Dreaming,” where she is set to play the younger version of Aubrey Plaza’s leading character within the series. Camposano also debuted as Poppy in the ninth season of Brat TV’s “Chicken Girls” and so far has been a part of numerous successful projects!

We recently had a highly insightful chat with Adriana in order to discuss her professional journey so far, her acting ritual and the plans she holds for her future!

Hi there Adriana. So lovely to have you over at ReVamp! How has the start of this year been for you?

The start of this year has been going great! I definitely was very busy in the last few months of 2021 so I’ve been able to have a little break at home, spend time with family and friends, and focus on school! It is pilot season though so I’m continuing to train and audition too!

How are you coping up with the pandemic? Is there anything that you’re currently doing in order to maintain your creativity?

The industry slowed down during the pandemic definitely took a bit of a toll on me! It really impacted me as an actor and made me realize how much being an actress really means to me! I’ve definitely picked up on different hobbies and have spent time using the creative side of myself!

Throughout your acting journey, you have been part of some really exciting projects like ‘Orange is the New Black’, Brat TV’s ‘Chicken Girls’ and many more! What according to you has been the most memorable experience of your journey?

It’s really so hard to say! Each and every one of these experiences have been beyond amazing and special in their own ways. Everyone I’ve worked with on all of these projects are fantastic and I’m so grateful being able to meet and work with the most wonderful people!

Let’s talk about your upcoming role as ‘Young Olga’ in the new Hulu Drama Pilot “Olga Dies Dreaming”. Huge congratulations on the project! What can you tell us about your character in the show?

Thank you so much! I really can’t say much at the moment, but I will be playing the younger version of Aubrey Plaza as a young Olga on the show! The storyline is amazing and I hope to be able to share more soon!

Do you have a specific acting ritual? How do you usually prepare yourself before finally going in front of the camera?

A trick I use to help myself get into a character is to find something in that character that can connect to you, no matter how big or little the connection can be but it is extremely useful and helps to bring your character even more to life!

What has been the best advice you have ever received throughout your acting journey?

My mom is always giving me the best and most useful advice. Something she always says and reminds me is to keep in mind that this journey is a marathon, not a race. That phrase she said to me has been with me all these years because it’s important to remember that in this industry, every step counts and it’s all about the work you put in to achieve your goals!

If given an opportunity, who would you absolutely love to collaborate and work with in the future?

Zendaya, Millie Bobby Brown, Sofia Carson, and Chloe Grace Moretz are some of my favorite actresses; I admire their work and would love to collaborate with one of them one day!

What’s next for you, Adriana? Any upcoming projects you’d like to hint your fans about?

Some of the projects I recently have been working on will be coming out this year and I’m beyond excited for it to come out! Including, “Laurina” the short film, “Chicken Girls” part 2 of season 9 and hopefully will continue shooting for the Hulu Series I recently shot!

Lastly, is there any message that you’d like to give to your fans reading this interview?

I want everyone to know that anything you put your mind to you can achieve! With hard work and determination you will be able to reach your dreams and so much more! Don’t ever give up!
